Project Red Menace begins…

I’ve owned this car since 1998, and quite honestly I really haven’t done anything with it. The original intent of the car was to go vintage racing, but my plans were diverted by the idea that I should go race the heavy iron, Mustangs with NASA’s American Iron series. This led to a stint working in the Mustang racing business, and the car just sat.
Well, my mom sold her house last week, and I needed to find a new place to stash this car, so I decided that it’s finally time to actually do something with it. To me, there are few cars that are more beautiful than the Type 105 Bertone coupes, and we’re going to do this car right.
Tonight was project management. My friend who is handling the restoration/modification and I are planning on building the car into a road-going GTA replica, including as much aluminium bits as I can afford. The target completion date is March 2010. Updates will be posted as they happen.

Looking forward to updates! I was looking at some Alfas recently. I’d like to own one someday . . .
